Mt. Kailash & Holy Manasarovar Yatra : 14 Days Overland Tour Program.
This is the new route after earthquake in Nepal but common and popular tour plan that is executed by maximum number of people. This trip is done by Land Cruisers / Luxury Bus with stopovers on the way. The most important aspect of this plan is that it is the most basic and cost effective.
Detailed Tour Plan
Day 01 : Arrival Kathmandu
Welcome at Arrival Kathmandu, Transfer to the Hotel. Evening detail briefing about Kailash Manasarovar Yatra. Overnight at Hotel Royal Singi / Yellow Pagoda
Day 02 : At Kahtmandu
Half day Kathmandu Sightseeing, Pashupatinath Temple & Budhanilkantha Temple (Sleeping Bishnu) Evening briefing about Yatra, Overnight at Hotel Royal Singi / Yellow Pagoda
Day 03 : Kathmandu – Syaphrubeshi
After Breakfast drive to Syaphrubeshi Overnight at Hotel 2250m (117 km - 7 Hours)
Day 04 : Syaphrubeshi – Kerung
Drive to Kerung, overnight at Kerung Full day Kerung for Acclimatizes. Overnight at Hotel (2-3 hours, 43km, 2900m)
Day 05 : Kerung
Full day Kerung for Acclimatization Overnight at Hotel Kerung / Guest House.
Day 06 : Kerung - Saga
Early morning after breakfast at 8am Chinese border formalities and passes through Drive Kerung to Dongba via Saga (4500mts. - 375kms) Overnight at Hotel Dongba or Guest House.
Day 07 : Saga - Manasarovar
Drive Saga/Dongba (4250m) 332km / 7-8 hrs. En-route, pass through Lalung la Pass which is 16,000 feet above sea level, and Lake Pigutso and River Brahmaputra to Manasarovar. Overnight at Hotel / Guest House.
Day 08 : Manasarovar - Darchen
Full day on Holy banks of Manasarover. Yatris will perform Manasarover Parikrama by bus Puja Hawan at Mansarovar Lunch and drive to Darchen (4600mts. – 30mints.drive) Overnight at Hotel Darchen Himalaya Kailash Hotel.
At Darchen yatris who wants Mt. Kailash Parikarma with horses and porters will have to confirm our guide so that he can arrange all before starting the parikarma
On this day the group splits into two parts.
? First group that will do the parikrama, Yamadowar and Trek to Driraphuk Tarboche (12 kms / 7-8 hrs). Packed Lunch. Along with supporting staff, equipments, Yak & ponies. Dinner and Overnight Camp / Guest House. (Elevation approx. 16500 ft.)
? Second Group will visit Yamadwar and see off the first group and proceed to drive towards inner Kora (inner parikarima ) nearer to ashtapad. It is believed that Adinath Rishabdeva,the first Tirtnankar attained Nirvana here. At this point we are at the altitude of 16,000 ft. and this is the nearest point one can have a sight of holy Kailash. The group will spend few hours for meditation and return back to Darchen to Hotel
RMK : The entire logistics team and equipments (including the Kitchen Staff and Sherapas, guides, Camping equipments and the Kitchen utensils as well transport) will be divided in 2 parts to cater to the specific needs of the two groups.
At Darchen yatris who wanna do Mt. Kailash Parikarma, with horses and porters will have to confirm in advance and inform to our guide so that he can arrange all before starting the parikarma
Day 09 : 01st Day Trek
After early breakfast, depart to Tarboche (Yamdwar) (starting point for Kailash Parikrama). Trek to Driraphuk (12 km. / 7 - 8 hrs.). Packed Lunch. Dinner and overnight at guest house.
Day 10 : After early breakfast, start trekking to Zutulphuk via Dolma Pass (highest point of entire journey, 5750 m). The distance is 18 km with approximate time taken 9 - 10 hrs. Packed Lunch. Dinner and overnight at guest house.
Day 11 : After early breakfast, trek further for 10 km. (4 - 5 hrs.) to arrive at the ending point of Parikrama where bus shall be waiting to drive the back Dongba (365Km. 4500mts.). Packed lunch en route. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Dongba / Guest House.
Day 12 : Drive to Kerung (375km - 3600mts.) Overnight at Hotel Kerung / Guest House.
Day 13 : Drive Kerung to Katmandu – Overnight at Hotel Kathmandu Royal Singi / Yellow pagoda.
Day 14 : As per your return flight transfer to the Kathmandu airport for onward destinations. Tour end…
Remark :
- Above tour is organized from May to October.
- Starting point of the tour is Kathmandu.
- Total duration is 14 Days (depends upon the weather condition).
- Tailor made Itinerary suiting only for groups will be made as on request.
- For above tour Individual booking are taken for as per fixed departure Dates.
- Due to Mansoon / Landslide Yatris have to keep few days extra in hand.
Mode of transportation :
The kora (parikarma) of Mt. Kailash is to be performed by foot/yaks (Optional). It takes about two & a half day (42 km). Rest of the Journey by Jeep / Bus.
Accommodations :
Accommodation & all meals are inclusive. Accommodation will be provided in Hotels/Guest houses( as per Availability).
Medical Facilities :
Very few medical facility is available in Tibet. That too is very distantly located. Our Guide having certificate of paramedic courses will accompany the group, who take care of only few Medical issues at High altitudes. Personal Medical kit & medicines are recommended.
Guide :
Tibetan Guide will accompany the group, Supported by Tour Leader from India Or Nepal.

Cost for this trip NRI's & Foreign passport holder would be US $ 2200 per person (For US/CANADIAN Passport holders extra $ 500 or for other Foreign Passport Holders $ 400) / For Indian national INR 1,85,000/- Per Person.
Remark :
Itinerary is subject to change without prior notice due to unavoidable circumstance such as landslide, snow, political unrest, cancellation of flight, delay arrival, delay issue of permit and visa, sickness or accidents. Any extra cost incurred there of shall be borne by the clients on the spot.

Permissions and other official formalities :
- No permission is required from the Indian or the Nepalese Govt.
- To undertake this tour all yatris should have minimum 6months valid passports.
- 2 Passport size photograph.
- Tibetan Permit & Chinese Visa are required for this tour, which is included in the tour cost.
- Medical Fitness certificate stating that the traveller is not suffering from any type of respiratory diseases such as Asthma (issued by registered medical practitioner) is needed.
